Our Story

Human Judgment Meets Intelligent Systems

Mako grew out of work we were already doing inside an active law practice. Mr. Sharkey built and refined AI workflow systems for his own firm — contract review, client intake, matter summaries, meeting workflows, and more. These were production systems, not experiments. They were developed to solve real operational problems under real professional responsibility obligations, and they materially changed how we approach routine legal work.

What we found is that most firms need more than a tool. They need someone who understands both the technology and the realities of practicing law. How matters actually move, where attorney judgment is non-negotiable, and what it takes to deploy AI responsibly inside a professional services firm. Mako was built to provide exactly that.

Mission

Governed intelligence for professional workflows

The best outcomes in law still require human judgment, client empathy, and ethical discretion. Our mission is to augment those capabilities with intelligent systems that automate the complex, accelerate the routine, and embed governance at every step.

By implementing AI-powered workflow systems that respect professional responsibility obligations, Mako gives law firms a structural advantage — faster operations, lower risk, and attorneys who can focus on the work that truly requires their expertise.

Governance First

Compliance and oversight are embedded into every system we deploy — not bolted on after the fact.

Implementation Focus

We don't sell software. We implement integrated, governed systems built on workflows we've tested inside our own practice, and adapted to work within your existing operations.

Professional Responsibility

Every workflow we automate is designed around ABA Model Rules, state bar guidance, and emerging professional responsibility standards.

Impact

We measure the impact of every deployment — from attorney hours recovered to repetitive tasks eliminated — so your firm sees the real-world difference.
